The Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases was established in 1989 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Özgöztaşı. Outpatient services were conducted at the former Chest Diseases Hospital in Kolejtepe, while inpatient services were provided at the former Maternity Hospital in Kozanlı. In 2004, the department moved to the Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital on the university campus. Dr. Zülal Erbağcı, who completed her specialization training in the department, joined the academic staff as an Assistant Professor in 1996, Dr. Necmettin Kırtak in 1998, and Dr. Cenk Akçalı in 2007. Dr. Serhat İnalöz, who completed his specialization training outside the department, joined the department as a lecturer in 2000.

Mission and Vision:

1. To provide medical students with sufficient theoretical and practical training in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of dermatological and venereal diseases.

2. To provide specialist training in the field of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases.

3. To diagnose, treat, and follow up on patients with problems and complaints related to the field of science in the outpatient clinic.

4. To follow up and treat patients who require inpatient treatment.

5. To follow national and international scientific developments.

6. To contribute to informing the public about issues related to the field of science through the media.

7. To conduct scientific research and make it available to the scientific community.
