The Department of General Surgery is one of the most important and comprehensive fields of medicine. At Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital, thanks to faculty members with diverse areas of expertise, leading and innovative practices are carried out in oncological (cancer) surgery, transplantation (organ transplantation), obesity and metabolic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, endocrine surgery (breast, thyroid, adrenal, etc.), gastrointestinal (digestive system) surgery, hepatopancreatobiliary surgery (liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts), hernia surgery, laparoscopic surgery (minimally invasive procedures), colorectal and anorectal surgery, as well as emergency and surgical intensive care services.
