The Department of Neurosurgery at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine Hospital provides advanced diagnostic and treatment services as one of the most well-equipped and comprehensive centers in the region. Our clinic plays a leading role in both patient care and scientific research by combining academic expertise with modern technological infrastructure.
Our department is equipped with 4 operating microscopes and 2 endoscopic systems, enabling microsurgical procedures at micron-level precision to be performed safely. Each year, approximately 1,250 cranial cases and 1,000 spinal cases are successfully operated.
Surgical Areas and Expertise
- Neuro-oncology: Resection of brain and spinal tumors using microsurgical and endoscopic techniques, supported by advanced neuronavigation and intraoperative imaging systems.
- Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery: Surgical treatment of skull base pathologies using minimally invasive endoscopic approaches with high success rates.
- Neuroendoscopy: Endoscopic techniques are used in procedures such as hydrocephalus, intraventricular lesions, and third ventriculostomy.
- Vascular Surgery: Aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and other cerebrovascular pathologies are treated using microsurgical and endovascular approaches.
- Spinal Surgery: All types of spinal interventions and reconstructive surgeries—from degenerative spine diseases to traumatic fractures, tumors, and spinal deformities—are successfully performed.
Education and Research
The Department of Neurosurgery at Gaziantep University not only provides clinical services but also serves as an educational institution that trains qualified specialist physicians. Advanced training opportunities are offered to medical students, residents, and researchers.
