Established in 1993, our clinic currently serves Gaziantep and surrounding provinces with a 23-bed ward, a general psychiatry outpatient clinic, 7 specialized outpatient clinics, and 2 partially specialized outpatient clinics (Forensic and Administrative Cases, Sleep Disorders), totaling 10 units. Approximately 800 patients are admitted annually, and 28,000 patients receive outpatient follow-up and treatment. Our department has 5 faculty members, 34 research assistants, 3 psychologists, and 8 nurses. In addition to international multicenter studies, numerous scientific studies are conducted. Our clinic provides services to patients in the following specialized units and areas:
Forensic and Administrative Cases: These cases are evaluated and decided upon at meetings held on Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM, attended by all faculty members/staff. The meeting is chaired by the responsible faculty member.
Mood Disorders Unit: Patients previously evaluated and diagnosed in our outpatient clinic with unipolar depression and bipolar mood disorder are served by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahadır DEMİR and Dr. Muhammet SANCAKTAR on Mondays from 08:00 to 17:00.
Psychotic Disorders Unit: Patients previously evaluated and diagnosed in our outpatient clinic with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, delusional disorder, and similar psychotic disorders are served by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülçin ELBOĞA on Tuesdays from 08:00 to 17:00.
Anxiety Disorders Unit: Patients previously evaluated and diagnosed in our outpatient clinic with generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and similar anxiety disorders are served by Prof. Dr. Services are provided under the supervision of Feridun BÜLBÜL on Wednesdays from 08:00 to 17:00.
Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders Unit: For those with problems related to alcohol, heroin, cocaine, synthetic pills, and similar drugs, services are provided under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman ALTINDAĞ on Fridays from 08:00 to 17:00.
Sexual Dysfunction Unit: For those previously evaluated and diagnosed in our outpatient clinic with erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, vaginismus, orgasm disorders, low libido, and similar sexual problems, services are provided under the supervision of Dr. Assoc. Prof. Muhammet SANCAKTAR on Fridays from 08:00 to 17:00.
Germatology Psychiatry Unit: For patients over 65 years of age, services are provided under the supervision of Dr. Assoc. Prof. Muhammet SANCAKTAR on Fridays from 08:00 to 17:00.
Consultation Liaison Psychiatry: Patients receiving inpatient treatment in other departments of our Oncology and Şahinbey Research and Application Hospitals, and who are referred to our clinic for mental health issues, receive services under the guidance of responsible faculty members.
Sleep Disorders Unit: Patients with sleep problems, primarily obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, are observed in our hospital's sleep laboratory. Their cases are evaluated and discussed using a multi-disciplinary approach with physicians from various specialties, including pulmonology, otolaryngology, and many others. The mental health assessment and treatment of these patients are carried out under the guidance of responsible faculty members.
Community Mental Health Center Unit: In this unit, the appropriate diagnosis, treatment, and regular monitoring of medication use for patients with mood disorders and psychotic disorders are carried out under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülçin ELBOĞA. Patients receive individual and group therapy, psychoeducation to raise awareness about the illness for both the patient and their family, occupational therapies (crafts, painting, etc.), anti-stigma activities, social events, and sports activities. Furthermore, the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Unit within the Community Mental Health Center provides TMS treatment for many conditions, primarily depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
