Our department is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services that meet the needs of education, research, and the region by adapting to the scientific innovations required by modern and contemporary medicine. Our department serves inpatients in two units located on the ground floor of the Şahinbey Medical Center: a gynecology clinic and an obstetrics clinic and delivery room. The clinic also includes an operating room and an infertility unit, which are planned to be put into use in the near future. In our newly completed outpatient clinic building, outpatient services are provided by faculty members and research assistants. All modern care, screening, diagnosis, and treatment principles are applied before, during, and after pregnancy. Innovations in perinatology are followed, and interventions aimed at the child (amniocentesis, etc.) are performed, and high-risk pregnancies are closely examined. In our menopause clinic, women in menopause are informed, necessary treatment is applied after endocrinological examinations, and thus they are helped to lead a more comfortable life. Furthermore, potential gynecological problems that may arise during this period are detected early and appropriate treatments are provided. In our region, all types of oncological operations are performed by experienced faculty members, and various gynecological problems are diagnosed and surgically treated using modern endoscopic surgery. Furthermore, current practices in urogynecology are successfully implemented in our Department. Every Friday is dedicated to education in the Department. Weekly gynecology, obstetrics, and outpatient cases are presented. Scheduled seminars are given by relevant faculty members and research assistants, and literature is reviewed through articles. While theoretical lectures are given in our Department, emphasis is placed on training that includes the diagnosis and treatment of frequently encountered cases and emergency cases, covering the information a general practitioner should know. In addition to theoretical lectures, practical training includes bedside visits conducted by faculty members, and cases from the training period are discussed.
