Our laboratory provides services for a range of tests necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical diseases. In the pathology department, histopathological diagnoses are made from tissue samples received from all branches.
In terms of staff, equipment, and the number of tests performed, our department ranks among the top in Türkiye. Furthermore, our hospital also examines materials from hospitals and medical centers in surrounding provinces. Our hospital also has ongoing work in the fields of cytopathology and molecular pathology, becoming a reference center in our region. Our pathology unit uses "frozen section" procedures, which are used for rapid diagnosis during surgery.
Our pathology unit comprises three sections:
HISTOPATHOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Almost all cases are reported to the clinic in a short time. Patients are notified via SMS when the report is ready. When deemed necessary, additional special stains (PAS, reticulum, Masson Trichrom, van Gieson, cresyl violet, toluidine blue, etc.) are used in addition to routine examination.
The processing of the material, i.e., the processing of the samples (tissue processing), is carried out by our modern equipment and highly qualified technical personnel. Evaluation with frozen section is also within the activity of histopathology and can be performed at any time of the day.
CYTOPATHOLOGY DEPARTMENT
The evaluation and reporting of body fluids, vaginal smears, and fine needle aspiration material sent from the radiology department is the responsibility of this pathology department and is carried out with a process that provides results on the same day or the next day.
IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT
This method is applied in our laboratory with very meticulous and reliable work and high-quality results are obtained.
