The Department of Radiology has been providing services to Gaziantep and surrounding provinces in its field since the opening of Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital. Especially in recent years, with the hospital's physical facilities and medical equipment reaching a sufficient level, all patients referred to our department from Gaziantep and surrounding provinces for diagnosis and treatment are treated with various radiological methods guided by the available equipment in our department. In addition to these services, our department intensively and effectively conducts training and research activities for radiology residency students and medical faculty students. Our faculty members, each closely following international and national developments in their field and possessing scientific expertise and experience, are currently training 11 residency students. Our department carries out its activities with a total of 75 healthcare personnel, including 43 technicians, 4 nurses, 11 secretaries, and 17 other staff members.
Our department possesses equipment comparable to that found in the most advanced centers in our country, the main ones being:
- 2 Multislice Spiral Computed Tomography (MSCT) machines [one 64-slice machine capable of advanced diagnostic examinations such as cardiac examinations, the other a 6-slice machine];
- 2 Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines, one 1.5T and the other 3T;
- 1 Flat Panel Detector Angiography (DSA) machine;
- 4 Color Doppler Ultrasonography (RDUS) machines;
- 4 Ultrasonography (US) machines;
- 1 Mammography machine;
- 1 Remote Controlled Digital Fluoroscopy machine;
- 1 Televised Fluoroscopy machine;
- 5 Conventional X-ray machines;
- 4 Mobile X-ray machines.
Our clinical activities are carried out in collaboration with the Radiology Department of Gaziantep University Hospital, as well as the Radiology Unit of the Oncology Hospital and the Emergency Radiology Units.
